IS 300, Fall 2010 Table of Contents 1. Routine Room Instructor Meeting Dates TuTh 8:30AM - 9:45AM   SONDHEIM HALL 111   Roy Rada   01/27/2010 - 05/13/2010   The required textbook for the course is Management Information Systems, Sixth Edition by Effy Oz published by Course Technology in January 2008 with ISBN-10: 1423901789. We have 29 sessions and will typically do one chapter per two sessions. We meet for 75 minutes per session. The class has about 40 students. For a typical first session of many chapters, 20 students will present assigned exercise answers, and for a typical second session for a chapter, the professor will lecture. Typically every 2 nd chapter, we will have a 20-question, multiple-choice quiz to cover the two preceding chapters and presentations. By Feb 18 have posted on discussion board titled “introduce yourself” the following: a 100-word or longer description of o who you are, o why you want to study Information Systems, and o what you hope to do when you are older, and a photo of yourself that includes your face and is recent enough that we can match you to your photo. 1. 1 st day of class (Th Jan 28): prof explains the course, prof gives lecture on 1 st chapter 2. 2 nd day of class (Tu Feb 2): answers due on 1 st chapter on Blackboard, half of students present answers 3. 3 rd day of class (Th Feb 4): answers due on 2 nd ch., half of student present answer. (((((SNOW DAY Feb 9 and 11th. )))))) 4. discussion of how to do photo album 5. student introductions (including photo) DUE; prof lectures on 2 nd ch; and quiz on chps 1 and 2 6. answers due on 3 rd ch and students present 7. prof lectures on 3 rd ch 8. answer due and presented on 4 th ch 9. prof lectures on ch 4 and quiz on 3+4 (to include 5 questions about photo album) 10. students ch 5 11. prof ch 5 12. students ch 6 13. prof. ch 6 and quiz on 5+6 14. students 7 15. prof 7 16. students 8 & 9 -- all 40 students submit for this combined session 18. stud 10 19. prof 10 and quiz on 9+10 20. stud 11 21. prof 11 22. stud 12 23. prof 12 and quiz 24. stud 13 25. prof 13 26. stud 14 27. prof 14 and quiz 13+14 2.
