Assignment #1 “Theories of Revolution” Ruiz says “Revolution” if indeed more than a mere change of rules, heralds the dawn of a new age, in an economic and social as well as in political sense. Ruiz was trying to work on transformation of the basic structure of a society but not just a change of rules. Ruiz talks about two different things that could mantel of Revolution. The first thing that he talks about is the repercussion resulting from the advent of modern commerce and the second thing was Industrialization, which was very important for them at that point. This means that the industrialization is still continues to revolutionize societies and both of them would be in capitalist. At Ruiz time the Industrial Revolution was neither sudden nor in a literal sense violent, which was the term of Revolution in France, China and Russian. The other important thing about Ruiz reading was, none of those people that climbed the pinnacles of power as a result of the Revolution seriously considered the substitution of Capitalism with Marxism.
