Unformatted text preview: Some of the good things about the movie were that you could put a face to the name (even though they are Muppets!). You also got a visual of everything happening. The book moved so fast that it was hard to really picture what was going on all the time. There were some parts where Stevenson was very descriptive and others where he skipped over describing things all together. In the movie, you take in everything. Some of the drawbacks of a movie are the fact that although more is shown, a movie cant possibly show everything that happens in the book. Its just not possible to compact that much information into two hours. Things like Jim saying goodbye to his mom before the trip were left out. Although they werent big in the book, theyre still scenes that if you hadnt read the book you wouldnt know they were supposed to be there. One theme the film explores that the book does not is a romance side of the Benjamina and Smollett relationship. As in all Muppet movies, I think that the movie was turned more toward Captain Smollett relationship....
