It[Netflix] is a data-driven company and has achieved overwhelming success with the use ofAlgorithms. The company used an algorithms strategy that enabled the analysis and gathering ofdata from multiple places to determine its viewer’s habits each time she/he presses play andwatches a TV show or movie; it is collecting data that informs the algorithm. Information is thenordered to determine the types of shows or movies you enjoy watching, the time of day youwatch, the devices you are watching Netflix on and how long you are watching (Jenner, 2018).This data is then analyzed to assist the algorithm process and to assist in determining theirsubscribers’ viewing patterns. With the use of various market acquisition strategies, such asthree-stage expansion process and working with already established markets, enabled thecompany to get rooted in the markets. Netflix developed its internationalization capabilities,where the challenge of foreignness was less acute (Jenner, 2018). One such country is Canada.This enabled them to learn methods to expand its capabilities in foreign markets; It provedconsistency in the globalization of its operations.
