Notice the large work barge built from six (6) smaller barges linked together (FlexiFloats) and stabilized with two spuds. Stevenson Environmental operates a Komatsu PC300 excavator on a 30 x 60 S- 50 FlexiFlaot assembly on the St. Lawrence River in New York. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers uses an H-50 FlexiFlaot barge to clean debris lodged against an aqueduct on the Monocacy River near Dickerson, Maryland. Cutter-suction head dredge transfers slurry to a sand barge. This narrow river dump scow is used for hauling spoil from environmentally sensitive areas with confined channel access.
