BioNB 2210, Fall 2011 Hints for Assignment 4 Below are some of the questions you should consider when reviewing a paper. Keep these questions in mind as you read through the paper and consider whether it should be accepted for publication. Title and abstract Does the title accurately reflect the major focus of the study? Is the abstract a clear, comprehensive, and concise summary of the main text of the paper? Introduction Does the introduction provide sufficient background for readers to understand the significance of the study? Does the introduction succinctly state what is known and unknown about the topic? Are previous studies cited appropriately? Is it clear how this study will relate to and expand on previous findings? Is the specific experimental question, goal, or aim to be addressed stated clearly? Is it clear why the results of this study are interesting and important? Experimental design
