Unformatted text preview: Create a Database Table Lab 7, Step 1 A. Open Access and create a new database named Lab1_yourlastname.accdb. Access the iLabs and open the Office 2007 application folder. Select Access 2007: The Getting Started with Access 2007 screen will open. Select New Blank Database: The Blank Database bar will appear. Name your new database Lab7_yourlastname.accdb: Click Create. Because a database begins with Tables, the Table Object will automatically open: Notice that the Table already has an ID field, which is an AutoNumber by default. This means that when new records are added, the field will automatically populate with the next available number in the sequence. To see how easy Microsoft has made table creation in the 2007 version of its product, click on the New Field tool in the Fields & Columns group. A list of predefined fields will automatically open up on the right hand side: You may either drag the fields you wish to use into the Table grid or double-click on each field you want to use.
