Make certain that your Inventory Table is selected. Select the Fields you wish to extract from the database. Since you are making an Insurance claim, you will wish to see the following data: Item Manufacturer Model Acquired Date Purchase price Serial Number Location To add fields to your query, simply click the arrow between the Available Fields and the Selected Fields: Click Next. Select the Detail Query and click Next. Name your query qryItemsbyRoom, since the query will provide a list of items with location. Make sure that Open the query to view information is selected:

The query will open in Datasheet View: Note that we have selected a subset of the data from our table in order to answer our question. We have left out those fields that are not important to our question. We can sort or filter these items by clicking the dropdown menu next to any field in our Query:
