This could be for a client brand new to QuickBooks. Or, it could be for a client whose data file is so riddled with errors, it makes more sense to start over from scratch! Please notethere is a big difference between getting started with QuickBooksand Setting Up QuickBooks. Your client can complete the Easy Step Interview and get started within half an hour. However, the setup of their QuickBooks is by no means complete. During this module, you learn the steps to setup a file COMPLETELY. By the end of this module, youll be able to create and properly set up a NEW QuickBooks data file, and convert an EXISTING data file to the newest edition of QuickBooks. Youll understand how your clients and their employees can function in a multi-user environment. And youll learn about the lists you may need to modify to complete file setup. Youll learn how to handle beginning balances, including beginning equity balances in QuickBooks. And, you learn how to setup payroll and how to enter historical transactions. Checking your work is always a good idea, so youll learn to run reports to check the accuracy of your data. And because many clients will setup without your help, youll also learn how to fix the most common setup errors. END Welcome! The lessons in this module take you through the process of creating and setting up a new QuickBooks data file. Creating a new data file involves the following steps: 1. Creating the actual QuickBooks file 2. Completing and modifying lists 3. Entering beginning balances 4. Setting up payroll 5. Entering historical transactions 6.
