ASSIGNMENT 4 2 I. There are several reasons that caused the employees dissatisfaction; they are discussed below: A. The first cause of the employee’s dissatisfaction is she is “exhausted and frustrated”. The employee is probably experiencing burnout. The employee feels as if she is overworked but at the same time doesn’t have enough. She is exhausted because she has assignments to do, work that probably feels like busy work to her. She is frustrated because she wants to do more. Not that she wants to do more work but she wants to do more in the way of new assignments. B. The second cause of the employee’s dissatisfaction is she doesn’t feel challenged. The employee doesn’t feel challenged because she probably feels as if what she is doing comes too easily to her. She works hard and wants to learn new things. The employee wants to grow and probably feels that her job just isn’t enough for her anymore because she doesn’t think she is getting anything out of it anymore. That her days are check in, do assignments, check out; just repetition. The employee feels stunted, like there is no professional growth for her. II. Of the factors above, those listed below are those that could be addressed with improvements in the way the organization handles development. A. The first factor from paragraph I above that could be addressed with improvements in the way the organization handles development is that Malik could simply speak with the employee about job enrichment. Let her know that he plans to add new challenges and new responsibilities to her role or if she might be interested in making a lateral move; transferring to
