When writers begin writing not all process work all the time, good writers will usually do the following: 1. Realize that the first draft can be revised. 2. Write on a regular basis. 3. Break down big jobs into smaller tasks. 4. Set clear goals focusing on the purpose and the audience. 5. Use several different strategies. 6. Use rules flexibly. 7. Edit after all drafts have been completed. II. Activities in the Composing Process A. The composing process can include many activities but do not have to be in any given order: 1. Planning a. Analyze the problem that needs to be addressed, define your purpose, and analyze the intended audience so that the material is appropriate. b. Brainstorming information, addressing benefits, handling objections.
