3The type of teacher I would want to be is one that is understanding and compassionate for student needs. I would want my students to be comfortable enough to come to me, whether they are having a problem in school or at home. I want to be theperson that can protect them from harm and be a sort of confidant or mediator whenever they have issues that arise. I would best communicate with my students by telling them that I have an open-door policy and that I am there for them whenever they needed. When it comes to discipline, I would use a positive discipline approach and prefer for us to speak one on one about any issues or behaviors that need to be modified. I would then ask them what they feel that they can do differently to have a better outcome than what is currently occurring. Then we would work together to create
