ORGANIZATION BEHAVIOR Case 07: What More Evidence Do You Need Sally Randolph is the CMO (Chief Medical Officer) at the American Medical Center. Mark Wiley, a friend and coworker for many years, is the CEO. American Medical Center is a 3 billion dollar institution. Finding ways to compete and function at the highest level has caused separation between Sally and Mark as to what direction the company should take. Mark wants to change management style while Sally wants to take “Evidence Based Management,” a system designed to used proof to improve working functions, to a new level. Evidence based management is held and has 36 participants . Harry Bradshaw, from “Lucas Business School ,” is a part of the semin ar. Every other month, clinicians and managers met in groups of 6 EBMgmt to tackle management issues within AMC. The problems faced, discussed, and researched were delivery and coordination of patient care. Structural reorganization was decided in the EBMgmt groups but didn’t gain support from the Chiefs or Mark, they never got off the ground
