Jeremy Pflug Pentad Analysis – Smith Financial Corporation Goal/Purpose Actor Agency/Means Scene Action Frame Smith Financial Corporation is seeking a new Asst. Vice President and Director of Data Management after the resignation of one of their valued employees. Main responsibilities of this position include: manage the distribution, storage, capture and flow of data throughout the corporation. Upper management is looking to “shake up” personnel to bring a different culture to the corporation. The primary actor is Frank Miller. His credentials include 20 years in data management and the last 10 years in consulting. He has had multiple articles published about data management in industry trade magazines familiar with Microsoft. Miller began his tenure at Smith Financial Corp. as the Director of Data Management. He started with attending weekly project meetings so that he could be a better feel for what applications and projects that Smith Financial Corp. offered. His first task was to evaluate the existing software platforms, applications, and database systems currently in place.
