Unformatted text preview: Jeremy Pflug Regulations 7/17/10 The department of Homeland Security (specifically the Coast Guard) is controlling the regulation. This agency interests me because they oversee many specific sport related promotions and we don’t even realize it. Usually when I hear of Homeland Security, I am thinking of military aspects but I didn’t even think about the Coast Guard or Army National Guard and how the Homeland Security Department has to propose regulations in order to oversee the events. These regulations will not affect my business considering it is with the San Francisco Giants, however it interested me because I thought about the Cincinnati Reds and all their fireworks displays and that they must go thru the same type of regulations. The proposal is that the Coast Guard will assume complete control over “McCovey Cove” for the fireworks display that will occur after the San Francisco Giants game.
