The following table describes the tasks involved in the production of this product: Use the Longest Processing Time Rule (LPT) to design this assembly line and answer the following five questions. 12. What is the cycle time of this assembly line? a) 0.003 seconds b) 0.167 seconds c) 9 seconds d) 10 seconds e) 30 seconds Answer: d) 10 seconds Cycle Time : Operating Time/ Demand or Output Operating Time : 6 hours (Given in Question) Output or Demand: 2160 License Plates Cycle Time = 6 hours/2160 = 0.00277 hours , In Seconds = 0.00277*3600 = 10 seconds (approx) NOTE : We have been provided with the data, where we are given Time in seconds.
