Anna Gomenyuk October 3, 2009 Beliefs and values Beliefs and values are shaped by things that surround us everyday. Some of these things include our family, friends, religion, the neighborhood we live in, and media around us. Everyone has their own different beliefs and values, including me. My family has a big impact on me and the way I view the world. I was born in Ukraine and raised there until I was seven years old. Coming to America and leaving everything behind was not easy for us, but we knew that it would be worth it. We wanted a better life, as well as a better future for me and my older brother. In Ukraine, I grew up in a small city without much. Living here in the Unites States made me appreciate my life because of all the great things I have and all the opportunities that are being offered. Although we now live in the Unites States, we still celebrate Ukrainian holidays just like we celebrate the American ones. We celebrate both American and Ukrainian Easter. On Ukrainian Easter, it is a tradition to make a basket full of varying foods such
