Anna Gomenyuk September 28, 2009 Period: 8 th Hero Essay The word “hero” has many meanings to it. In today’s time period, the definition of “hero” can vary. To me, a hero is someone who has always been there for you, someone you look up to and respect. In my opinion, a hero doesn’t necessarily have to be anyone famous who has done a lot of good deeds. It doesn’t have to be anyone who risked their life to help others either. It could be an ordinary person that you know who has made an impact on you and your life. I consider my older brother a hero. Before an argument can be made that my brother is a hero, it is integral that the definition of “hero” is clearly defined. According to Merriam – Webster’s dictionary, a hero is defined as the following: A mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability, an illustrious warrior, or a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities.
