The Boondocks: A social movement! Justification To consider the truth and accuracy of this episode we would have to take a look at Tyler Perry’s accomplishments and pair them with the accomplishments of “The Boondocks.” Although this episode alleges that Tyler Perry misuse the African American community, Tyler Perry has been nominated for 19 NAACP image awards and won the chairman’s award at the 41 st celebration. These awards are given by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture and writing & directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors. He also won a couple BET awards in 2005 and Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting in 2005. He has become a successful African American in the film industry. Mcgruer have received the Peabody award, which “under the auspices of the University of Georgia's journalism department, recognize achievement and public service by TV and radio stations, networks, producing organizations, individuals and the World Wide Web (tvguide.com).” NickCannon.com says this
