Unformatted text preview: this error marks a moment where white women recognized that they could aid their husbands (political leaders) in the white supremacists movement, by making themselves seem like the victims. They began to initiate confrontation with black women, only to turn the focus and attention on themselves, as victims. Before the whole supremacy movement, blacks and whites passed each other on the streets regularly, but now black women were acting differentlycarrying themselves with arrogance. And as a result of the white supremacist movement, white women began to act like the superior and blacks did not take it lightly. During the era, black and white-owned newspapers feuded, each one giving their own accounts of what happened during the time period.
