When I began this course I remember asking myself “Why am I writing the essay prior to the other coursework, shouldn’t I write it following the other work?” Well, now I know the reason and the answer to the question, learning from your own mistakes with guided resources rather than from the coursework alone. Looking back at my topic “What is the best way to educate our children?” and after doing the work that followed the writing, I noticed improvements that could be made to my original essay. Clarity, statement of the problems, statement of the solutions and biases are some of the areas that need attention in order to improve my original essay. These critical thinking flaws will be discussed in terms of my prior writing. One way to improve my essay is in the critical area of clarity. The critical thinking strengths of my original essay are my ability to do quality research and to discuss a subject from multiple points of view. An example of this from my first essay is as follows: “Proponents of the school voucher program claim it would increase school productivity and cost efficiency while isolating the worst performing schools. Critics of the school voucher program say
