Political Science 14 Oct 09 Globalization -set of processes that are widening, deepening, and accelerating the interconnectedness among  societies -Integration; breaking down barriers Economic Globalization -global integration of trade and finance leading toward the emergence of a single world  economy. -Budweiser (King of American) owned by Belgium company -American Auto Companies: based in US, GM, Ford, Chrysler, but many parts made  overseas -Hyndai S. Korean owned Interdependence -a situation in which the actions and events in one state, society, or part of the world affect  people elsewhere. i.e.: -Oil goes up whenever there is an 'event' in the Middle East   -Housing/Foreclosure: Started here in the US, spread globally Cultural Globalization -Diffusion and integration of cultures worldwide, including ideas, literature, movies, music,  fashion, etc.
