Peacekeeping ­Peacekeeping activities have increased since the end of the Cold War (e.g. Haiti, Sudan, Congo), but have produced mixed results. Promoting Cooperation ­Most of the substantive work of the UN has been with non­security issues. ­Administers and coordinates a variety of health, education, environment, and economic programs.
