Mid-term Project Guidelines TAPE GUN – Summer, 2004 General directions for all students The overall guideline for the mid-term project is the combination of material discussed in class, in lab, and in this document. This document is not considered to be an all-inclusive description of every detail that might be needed in the mid-term project report. It is a reasonable guideline of what is expected. The outline of material in this document is the expected outline for your mid-term project/report and eventually it will be part of your final report. Do not cut and paste the paragraphs you find below in your mid-term report ; but you can certainly make appropriate points in your project report that are made in the paragraphs below. I - Project Goals This section should discuss the general goals of the mid-term project: complete the solid model of your Tape gun and discuss, in some detail, how you used Master Series to achieve that goal. Point out that the additional goal of your final project is to develop a finite element model of your Tape gun CAD model. Discuss that the Tape gun will be eventually modeled using various elements: beams, springs, shell and solid elements. II – Background/Description of Tape Gun
