Why is the difference important? o Mining Veins can be mined narrowly o Disseminated must be bulk mined Metamorphic process resources Existing rock changed by heat, fluids, and pressure New minerals created by exchanging atoms with surrounding minerals or  fluids. Economic deposits can form at any of these stages Organic resources Organic materials gets buried and compressed and then turned to coal or oil Rocks as Resources Tectonics as Guide How do we know where to look for these things?
