James Soyemi Human Sexuality Prof. Sullivan Sexual Orientations In our open minded and diverse society, people are free to choose their preferred sexual orientation. The study of average age of first same-sex attraction shows that children are more attracted at a younger age in the 1990s than they were in the past. The rise of hippie culture and media exposing same-sex interaction are the blame for the early age attraction. Many people do not know the difference between a bisexual, and a homosexual. A bisexual is an individual that have sexual attraction to both men and women, while a homosexual is attracted to only members of the same sex. A great method developed to examine people’s sexual characteristics was the seven-point continuum devised by Alfred Kinsey. Although there were many errors in Kinsey’s method, new developments shows lower statistics in homosexuality. According to studies, more women than men are bisexual. The rate of bisexuality among U.S. women has nearly tripled in the past
