James Soyemi Human Sexuality Prof. Sullivan Good communication in a relationship is essential. Love is an interesting term. Throughout history it has inspired artists, poets, novelists, filmmakers, and students. Love can mean different things to different people. Simple things such as eye contact and touch can help enhance communication in a relationship. According to Robert Sternberg, love has three dimensions or components which include passion, intimacy, and commitment. These three components are broken down to subcategories. An interesting evaluation is that passion increase as time progress, but the level of commitment continues to increase. It is a popular saying that “opposites attract”, but similarity can be a factor. Many people that have many things in common find it easier to bond with their partner.
