Arnold, Victor's dad, goes through a process of "disappearing" in which he slowly disappears from his family, his community, and eventually from the world. Consider this "disappearing" and how t relates to the invisibility of Indian people in contemporary society. Answer: This relates to the invisibility of Indian people in contemporary society because many Indians simply leave the reservation and integrate into urban cities. They “disappear” out of their culture to assimilate to the dominant culture and society. 2. This film contains many metaphors: for example, Indians and July 4th(described in the film as "white people's independence day", Indians and driving a car backwards, Indians and frybread, Indians and alcohol, Indians and cowboys, Indians and Christianity, Indians and the Lone Ranger, and Indians and the image of the warrior.
