Pressure and Bernoulli’s Principle June 25, 2009 Experiment 1: Balloon Questions 1) Inflated, the mass of the balloon was 2.3 grams; deflated, the mass of the balloon  was 2.15 grams. The mass difference between the balloon’s inflated mass and its  deflated mass is 0.15 grams. 2) Air was the source for this mass difference. 3) This experiment reveals that air has weight. Experiment 2: Two Balloons Questions 1) The balance of the stick is upset. 2) The balance of the stick tips down, to the right. 3) This experiment reveals that the mass of a balloon with air is greater than the one  without air. Experiment 3: Rising Paper Questions 1) When blown above the paper, the paper goes up due to less pressure at the top. Experiment 4: Falling Bridge Questions 1) The card cannot be blown from off the table because air pressure lowers,  collapsing the card. Experiment 5: Spoon in a Water Stream
