What quotes and messages to students does she have posted around her room? What else do you see posted on the walls and white boards? How does sheengage the students from the very beginning of the lesson? She has quotes such as “100% everyday” and whatever it takes meaning that she is very invested in motivating the kids around her regardless of their individual backgrounds. Though the video is kind of hard to see, I also see clear whiteboards, graphs, and a couple of equations; things that are pertinent to algebra 1. She gains their attention by having them do awarm-up actively that is timed. 2.How do students know what is expected when they start class? How does the teacher take attendance? What is Ms. Tysor doing while the students are working on thewarm-up activity? Why?The kids come into the classroom and get straight to working on the activity. The teacher takes attendance based on seating. While the children are working, she is pacing the room. This shows that she is engaged and assessing how the children are doing on the assignment. It also helps her check if they actually doing the assignment or not.
