Darby (Editors) Title: Philips’ Library Atlas Publisher: Date: 1975 Library Call Number: G 1019 .P57 1975 “Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas” The map “Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas” is part of a collection of world maps in Philips’ Library Atlas in which the international flow of goods is reflected by showing world maps with lines pointing from one country to another, indicating the source and destination of the good. The purpose of these maps is to show the relationships between where goods are produced or harvested and where they are used, in this case coal, oil, and natural gas. The map provided is meant to be used as a general reference, rather than an extremely detailed source of information. The title only tells you the different products being shown on the map, but it is short and to the point. There is not a date, but one could assume that the maps were all updated with each edition of the atlas, meaning the information is from 1975, but the map itself does not provide the information. Also, there is not a north arrow. This missing piece is not such a bother because the map is a world
