Davis 1 Trevor Davis Professor Doersch December 12, 2010 WRTG 1150 Final His Underwater World Over a summer in high school, my dad led me into his life by letting me go spear fishing with him. My dad, whom everyone in my family refers to as Lyle, travels up and down California and Mexico to spear fish. Spear fishing is his life. He even used to hold a record in California for biggest yellow tail tuna speared and caught. My family goes to Catalina Island about six times over a given summer but this one trip I will never forget. We shipped off around nine on a clear day out of our harbor in Newport Beach. As we exit the harbor and started out on the ocean, Lyle asks me if I wanted to spear fish this trip. In my head I was freaking out because spear fishing is intense. But I told him “Hell yes pops!” I could tell he was very excited about my answer and could not wait to get me in the water. We continued our journey across the ocean with nothing in sight beside the land we left
