1. Identify the two types of wireless Internet access points. Which type uses cellular technology? (7 points) Answer: The first type is a Hot spot. It is a wireless network that connects mobile computers and devices to the Internet. Mobile users can access the internet from any device that has either built-in wireless or the appropriate wireless network card or adapter. 3G networks use cellular radio technology to connect users to the internet wirelessly at broadband speeds. These networks usually cover major cities and airports. Users access then through a cellular phone or notebook computer with the appropriate kind of wireless adapter card. 3G uses cellular technology. 2. Explain the client/server architecture. How is it different from peer-to-peer? (7 points). Answer: On a client/server network, one or more computers act as a server, and the other computers on the networks, called clients, request services from the server.
