Leases There four different types of leases all with different terms and conditions. Some can be used for the thing while others are specific to the situation. For the most part all the types of leases cover almost any situation. The four types of leases that I am going to discuss in this paper will cover the Stated Period lease, Period to Period Lease, an At Will Lease, and an At Sufferance Lease. I will give a brief description of each type of lease as well as an example of each. A lease is an agreement or transfer of possession of real estate from a landlord to a tenant for a consideration called rent. The lease is there to tell the tenant what the landlord expects out of the agreement that is made between the two parties. In a nut shell it is a contract. Since the Leaser generally decides what the lease will say, it often favors the landlord. If the lease or tenant disagrees with some part of the lease, it needs to be discussed and modified or deleted by mutual agreement. Any change, addition, or deletion to a lease or contract must be initialed by
