PSY 336 SUMMER SESSION 3 FINAL PAPER ASSIGNMENT The final paper in this class will be to explore an area of developmental psychology more deeply and be exposed to research in that area. The paper will be worth 20 points. Steps for completing the paper: 1. Think about topics and studies that have interested you in this class, and formulate a research question. Examples include: What is the effect of poverty on language development? What is the effect of infant temperament on personality in middle childhood? How does memory capacity change across early childhood? How do parent-child relationships affect adolescent substance use? 2. Use an online database (PsycInfo is most recommended) to select three empirical articles that help to answer your research question. You may find that no studies have been conducted on your research question. In that case, you may have to tailor your research question to suit what research exists. Empirical articles describe scientific research studies. They contain method and results sections and
