Garrett Barnes Shelby review 11-6-09 Shelby Cummings Shelby’s career path was not as he planned out it being. He came to SNU on an aviation program to try and be a commercial pilot but because of money problems, he had to quit after two years of school. He ended up getting a job as a bill collector and a job at Dillards just to put some money in his pocket. He did not know what to do until his father told him to just real estate and see if he liked it, as his father has been in real estate for over 32 years. His parents helped him with his first couple years being in real estate until he got his feet wet and started a great business. He gave very good advice to anybody that would like to be in real estate of not. For the real estate factor, he said to be very consistent in marketing. Real estate is a people business and if you are not a people person, then you are not going to do very well. You have to keep people’s faces in mind. Whatever you tell the customer you are going to do, you need to do it. Customer service is the best key to success
