Cabaniss Langston Cabaniss Ryan Abshire Comp 1 28 September 2010 Article Critique Rather you’re for or against gay marriage, reading the article ‘For Gay Marriage’ by Andrew Sullivan is strongly recommended as it will give one a different view on the heated topic. Sullivan’s way of breaking down and explaining his argument is excellent; however there are some basic contradictions that one may see throughout it. ‘For Gay Marriage’ falls short of its goal of trying to get people to see how it should be legal and is completely ineffective due to basic routines, common sense, and normal comfortability in typical humans in today’s world. In Sullivan’s article, he strongly states his case for having marriage legalized by explaining to the reader that homosexuals have just as much rights as heterosexuals to get married and that “denying it to homosexuals is the most public affront possible to their public equality.” Well the common misconception in today’s society about this point is that
