Allison Lo Professor Quigley COM 301 Writing Assignment #2: PR Newswire vs. Business Wire Memo To: Quigley Records From: Allison Lo Date: 19 June 2007 Subject: PR Newswire vs. Business Wire After studying and analyzing both PR Newswire and Business Wire in terms of distribution and coverage, its various services, accessibility to journalists, and ease of website navigation, I have come to the conclusion that PR Newswire is the media distribution service that is best suited for Quigley Records’ needs. Both PR Newswire and Business Wire service government agencies, non profit agencies, corporations and labor organizations and perform similar services such as sending press releases and multimedia to the general public, communities, newspapers and other mainstream media. It has over 688 RSS news feeds; 188 of these which are open to the public. Business Wire offers 18 general industry categories on their website. Again, PR Newswire seems to excel over Business Wire in that PR Newswire is much more specific to a user’s needs and is also more organized. PR Newswire breaks it’s various industries down into

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
