Axia College Material Appendix D TV Character Evaluation Part I Write a summary of 350-700 words identifying the contributions of Freud, Jung, and Rogers. <Insert Response Here The best known and most influential of psychodynamic theory was Sigmund Freud, up to this point psychology focus on consciousness, the thoughts and feeling that we were aware of. Freud stressed the ideas, thoughts and feeling that we may not be aware of in the unconscious. This was the form of psychoanalysis. Based on three kinds of unconscious drives and instincts some aggressive or destructive, some that are necessary for survival thirst, hunger, self-preservation and the desire for pleasure. The only structure that is formed at birth is the id, consisting of all the unconscious urges and desires that seek expression continually. Obtaining pleasure and avoiding pain is the goal of the pleasure principle. The id is not in contact with the real world so there is only two ways of obtaining gratification; one is by reflex actions or through fantasy. The
