History 11: United States History I MID-TERM EXAM LONG ESSAY Write a long essay with an introduction, many body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The essay should be in paragraphs form – and indent your paragraphs. Absolutely no notes are allowed to be out during the exam. You must write totally from memory in the 90 minutes (hour and a half) you are given. Be sure to answer all parts of the question (somewhere in the essay) with deep insight. Do some outside research beyond the textbook and power points. 1.) Tell the myth (story) of “Changing Woman and the Navajo Indian Hero Twins” as it was passed down to the twentieth century. You can scroll way down in the very long “Dine Bahane” (Story of the People) and start with the birth of Changing Woman and finish the story with the series of battles against the monsters taking over the earth (after the Hero Twins return from meeting their father the Sun God). Then tell the whole Blackfoot Indian myth (story) of the “Buffalo’s Human Wife and the Origin of the Buffalo Dance.” Use your best storytelling skills to tell the stories in your own words.
