What is a group? Persons who are interacting with one another in such a manner that each person influences and is influenced by each other Groups have an interdependent goal: All members succeed or fail together in the accomplishment of the group’s purpose!

Types of Small Groups Primary groups- exist to satisfy our primary needs as human beings- make you feel included, love, affection, etc. Secondary groups- focus on the accomplishment of tasks and they’re formed for the purpose of doing work. Fulfill our needs for control, and achievement. Activity groups- enable members to take part in an activity, both for the sake of doing the activity and for the affiliation we get for being part of that group. Personal growth groups- people come together to develop personal insights. They help themselves and they help other people with any personal problems that may come up. (ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS) Learning groups- form so members can better understand a subject by pooling their
