Belmont, CA: Thomson Wadsworth, 2008. Course Description: This course has been designed for the non-art major wishing to have a better understanding of art. It will concentrate on gaining a general understanding and appreciation of art by introducing examples of art, vocabulary, media and art history. Art serves many roles within society and throughout the world. This course will examine what it means to live with art, some of its purposes and will explore the question, “What is art?” Course Goals: -Understand the role of the artist and the viewer
