ENG4U – English Reflection TVO ILC The elements of this project that were most successful was doing the research to find out more about the song to gain a deeper understanding of the song. It was enjoyable to dig deeper and learn new things about “Freedom” and the meaning behind the words. I gained a new appreciation for Beyoncé because before this I was not a fan – just occasionally listened and enjoyed her music from time to time, but now Freedom is one of my favourite songs. The song is the body of empowerment and even if I am not an African American I can still relate to the song because I am a women. I can stand behind the message she is putting out and I was already a supporter of Black Lives Matter so this song is a rallying anthem for them. I did a lot of research on the “Freedom” and Beyoncé herself and I ended up learning more about her entire album “Lemonade” and the work she put into her activism through her art. For my image choices I actually had a lot of images, but decided I needed to get rid of some because there was no way to use them all in my presentation. I believe they were effective choices for the presentation and represented the points that I was talking about; for example the tenth slide which talks about Beyoncé and her crews attire.
