C134 Review 01:07 READ CHAPTERS 4-7 OF SIN NO MORE Gay Rights Sullivan’s types:  Prohibitionist – strongest oppoisition of gay rights, believe that it is an  abomination and want to eradicate it. Considered it as a disease and were  most likely to use violence as a response. View it as a choice therefore, they  could “infect” others. Liberationist – they want to always make a huge scene. They split the  homosexuality community because they are so rational and some don’t  believe that they don’t have to go that far. Conservative – publicly disapprove but they are privately ok with it (tolerate). Liberal – use the law to seek protection to gain rights ex. Hate crime law Same Sex Marriage DOMA (defense of marriage acts) – look at which states approved this and  what type of backlash they received Aid-in-dying Because of medical advancements, life expectancy went past normal
