Reaction 4 Localized Humanity Based Globalization The topic of a developing multi-scalar framework for looking at globalization is as obvious to me as it is brilliantly incisive. Surrounded by modern media and interacting daily on social networks on line and via increasingly powerful mobile devices, I am exposed to many of the forces that make globalization multi-scalar. What is most fascinating to me is the potential for like-minded groups to unite and create a connected network of local voices. What if students were fully united and created a student declaration of rights. Despite attracting billions in government funding and philanthropic dollars, education is disturbingly corrupt. College tuition and book prices have increased at twice the rate of inflation. The banking system has made billions essentially price gouging students while the government insured their risk. This is only for the gifted and/or wealthy. Most students still do not have the opportunity for a college education. Globally there is much debate about how the economic pie of the 21
