Josh Marcus 12/10/09 Reaction 5 Over the past few months, I feel I have been somewhat enlightened to the methods supporting U.S Hegemony. Since I was a little kid I remember questioning the basis of wealth dividing both factions within the U.S as well as among different countries throughout the world. Visits to Newark and Patterson NJ as well as Chile and Mexico continually kept alive this internal questioning. Though I am not naïve enough to believe I have a full understanding of the worlds geopolitical affairs, I feel as though many of my internal questions about the world have begun to be answered via the discourse in this class. The capitalist world order that has existed since the Second World War has created and supported U.S Hegemony. Through the Marshall Plan, Nixon’s Bretton Woods II, the opening of China, and the victory of the cold war, the U.S has expanded its political and economic dominance.
