SC/MATH 2271 3.0 Differential Equations for Scientists and Engineers Winter 2010 Study Guide for Midterm 1 The first midterm exam will cover lecture material up to and including exact differential equations, as well as the following sections from the text: 1.1, 1.2, 2.1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4. See the web page for a list of suggested exercises from the text. You will also be responsible for the material concerning vector spaces presented in the linear algebra review notes. Particular topics that may appear on the test include the following: Classification of DEs into type, order, linear or nonlinear, and, in the case of linear equations, homogeneous or nonhomogeneous.
