Unformatted text preview: SC/MATH 2271 3.0 Differential Equations for Scientists and Engineers Winter 2010 Notes on the final exam • The final exam is scheduled for Thursday, April 15 at 2pm in CLH C. • Office hours prior to the exam will be held on Wednesday, April 7, from 11:30am-2:30pm, and on Monday, April 12, from 10am-1pm. • The exam will cover the entire course but will emphasize the more recent material (since Midterm 3). That is, there will be 4 exam questions on the material corresponding to Sections 11.2 (full Fourier series), 12.1, 12.3, 12.4 and 12.5. • There will be no questions from Sections 2.5 (substitutions) or 4.7 (Cauchy-Euler equations). • On the other hand there will certainly be at least one question requiring the solution of a non-homogenous, constant coefficient ODE, such as is amenable to the technique of variation of parameters. And there will also be at least one question involving series solutions to a variable coefficient ODE. 1 ...
