Rating the News Sites 4 Comparison of Top media conglomerates In London a widespread phone-hacking scandal and police bribery case has surfaced. This is issue related to a phone-scandal case that was not further pursued by the Metropolitan Police of a former editor by the name of Neil Wallace. The scandal has sprung the arrests of the media magnate's former Rebekah Brookes, British newspaper chief, and the resignation of London's police commissioner, Paul Stephenson, and cutting close to Rubert Murdoch Chairman CEO of News of The World Corporation and London’s Scotland Yard. “Scotland Yard now admits it kept 11,000 pages of evidence containing names of 4,000 alleged victims of the phone hacking scandal but did almost nothing with it.” NBC's Keir Simmons reports. The Police chief has assumed responsibility through his statement (CNN News) "As commissioner, I carry ultimately responsibility for the position we find ourselves in. With hindsight, I wish we had juggled some matters involved in this affair differently. I didn't and that's it," Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson told reporters.
