There are many Arabs in this world along with many Muslims. Each is a distinct and separate group. Arab is term given to an ethnic group. Muslim is a follower of the religion of Islam. Many Muslims are not Arabic in ethnic descent; just as many Arabs are not considered Muslim because they do not follow the religion of Islam. Both Arabs and Muslims can be found globally as well as within the United States. Following the events of September 11, 2001, the Department of Homeland Security was formed. Although no policy can be passed that targets a certain group, the broad scope given to Homeland Security allowed many jurisdictions to participate in racial profiling that allowed many Muslims and Arabs to be questioned without exhibiting behaviors that would suggest they were terrorists. According to Representative Peter King (2011), "As chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, I will do all I can to break down the wall of political correctness and drive the public debate on Islamic radicalization.
